Psalms 69 is a mournful cry from king David who is overwhelmed with grief and torment. Because he is a victim of hostility from his enemies due to his faith in God. Here he describes his personal suffering but there are sections in this Psalm that some New Testament writers have applied to the suffering of our LORD Jesus Christ, the one who is the chief among ten thousand and altogether lovely.
We truly serve a God who can empathise with us when we are innocently victimised and persecuted. While he alone carried the burden of all our sins on His shoulders He does not leave us to carry our burdens alone. He invites us to cast them upon Him because He loves and cares for us.
So please join us on Prayers of Hope as we are reminded that we are more dearly loved by our Saviour when we encounter suffering for His cause.
