The Prayer in Psalms 85 begins with an expression of thanks to God for rescuing Israel from literal and Spiritual Captivity, he says, KJV Psalms 85:1-2 LORD, Thou hast been favourable unto Thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob. Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of Thy people, Thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.
Then the Psalmist goes on to plead for total restoration of God's favour upon His people, KJV Psalms 85:6 Wilt Thou not revive us again: that Thy people may rejoice in Thee? In the concluding verses the Psalmist is optimistic and anticipates that God he will receive a favourable answer to his prayer because of the Loving and Kind Character of God, KJV Psalms 85:10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Therefore the Prayer ends giving thanks and praise to the Wonderful, Merciful Saviour. KJV Psalms 85:12 ,13 Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase. Righteousness shall go before Him; and shall set us in the way of His steps.
