This week on Prayers of Hope we will begin part 1 of a 2 part programme on analysing Psalms 69. In part 1 we will analyse this Prayer of Sorrow from verses 1-18.
David makes a mournful plea to God due to the overwhelming effect of the grief and torment that he is experiencing. He cries, KJV Psalms 69:2-3 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.
David is a innocent victim of persecution due to his faith in God, KJV Psalms 69:9 For the zeal of Thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached Thee are fallen upon me. But David holds on to his conviction in the loving character of his God despite his distressing predicament, KJV Psalms 69:13 But as for me, my prayer is unto Thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of Thy mercy hear me, in the truth of Thy salvation.
Please join us as we analyse David's Prayer of Hope, receive strength and encouragement as you make it your very own heart's cry.
