Psalms 29 was composed by king David who was not content to merely paint a picture of nature in script but we also see the power and glory of nature's awesome Creator, God's Name is mentioned 18 times in this Psalm.
The structure of this Psalm exhibits an elaborate symmetry, which appears in the introduction in verses 1 and 2. This symmetry continues in the description of the storm with the sevenfold repetition of the phrase, "the voice of the LORD" in verses 3-9 and in the conclusion in verses 10 and 11.
Tradition indicates that in the second Temple this Psalm was sung on the final day of the celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles. In modern times it is included in the synagogue service on the first day of Pentecost and forms part of the Sabbath liturgy.
So please join us on Prayers of Hope as we give glory to our Creator and soon coming King of kings and LORD of Lord, Jesus Christ.
