This elegy of David has been labelled as the most mournful and despondent of all the Psalms. Inspite of this David begins by declaring that God is his Saviour who he consistently communicates with, KJV Psalms 88:1 O LORD God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before Thee:
He acknowledges the Divine Character of God,, lHis lovingkindness, faithfulness and righteousness. Thus illustrating that this Psalm is the perfect example of faith in adversity, although David experiences no relief from his suffering he tightens his hold upon God and refuses to let Him go. He is persistent in his prayer, he vows that his prayer will meet God each morning, because he hasn't lost hope.
