This Psalm was composed by David when he was under house surveillance by king Saul’s assassins. Sensing his impeding doom he cries out to God for rescue and protection, KJV Psalms 59:1 Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.
In the majority of the 17 verses which this Psalm is comprised of David describes the evil actions of his enemies but by the end of the Psalm he turns his attention away from evil men to behold his God.
These thoughts of God transforms his complaints into Praises,
KJV Psalms 59:16 But I will sing of Thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of Thy mercy in the morning: for Thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.
