Guests Audrey and Salome Reid.

This week on Prayers of Hope we will be exploring the life of a remarkable child of prayer, young king Josiah. He became king of Judah at the tender age of 8 years old, at age 16 he was committed his life to God like his ancestral father king David, at age 20 he led the people of God away from idol worship to recommit their lives to God.

By the age of 26 years old he financed the renovation of the Sanctuary, it was during this project that the law of God was found by the high priest, he gave it the scribe. When the scribe read the law he saw the Divine punishment that was hanging over God's rebellious people. As a matter of urgency the law of God was brought to the attention of king Josiah. He became distressed as he read the Divine condemnation which was pronounced against the rebellion of the people of Judah and he immediately sent his highest officials to the prophetess of God to plead for God's direction.

The fate of the people of Judah was not good but God showed mercy to the humble and obedient king. The youthful king Josiah earnestly interceded for people of Judah and led them in the sacred Passover service which reminded them of Messiah which would come to take away their sins along with the sins of the whole world.

So please join us on Prayers of Hope and be encouraged as we focus on the life and times of the child and youthful king Josiah who did right in the sight of the LORD.

Bible Texts:
2 Chronicles 34:1-3; 33:20-25; 2 Kings 22:3-20; 23:1-7 20; 2 Chronicles 35:1-8 16-18.

In the great controversy between good and evil intercessory prayer is a powerful weapon, in Revelation 12:7-9 we are told, And there was war in heaven: Michael and His angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 2 Corinthians 10:4,5 explains, For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
It is therefore through intercessory prayer that we can engage in spiritual warfare and plead with our Almighty God for the salvation of the people who we care about. And we can be confident that we are heard and that He will answer our prayers according to His will; which is always in the best interest of those whose case we present to Him in prayer.
So when we open our hearts in prayer to God it is like we open our hearts to our closest friend, we are sharing with Him our joys, sorrows,, struggles, victories, dreams and disappointments. As we engage in this communication with God it does not change the way that He feels about us, because God loves us with an everlasting love; but we are changed and develop a deeper level of trust and love for Him.
Therefore we invite you to join us on Prayers of Hope as we go up to the next level in our relationship with our loving heavenly Father.

Bible Texts:
Isaiah 53:12; Revelation 12:7-9; 2 Corinthians 10:4 5;1 John 5:14 16; Matthew 9:34; Mark 3:22; Luke 11:15; Daniel 10:2-14; Luke 5:16; Luke 9:18;Matthew 26:36-39 42 44; Mark 1:35; Hebrews 7:25; Luke 22:31 32; Matthew 18:18 19.

Guests; Diane Barnett and Pauline Thompson.

This Psalm of David is probably the best known and loved of all the Psalms. It is famously known as The Shepherd's Psalm. It is a delight of childhood and the consolation of old age. More books and articles have been written on this Psalm and more poems and songs composed on it's theme than any other Psalm.
Psalms 23 has a message for men and women of every generation. This beautiful prayer is comprised of three sections that illustrates the Shepherd's care; in verses 1-3 we see His provision and guidance as the gentle Shepherd leads His sheep to rest and nourishment. In verse 4 we see Him protecting His sheep from the dangers of the wilderness. And, in verses 5 and 6 Eternal hospitality is demonstrated in the Shepherd's role as a gracious host generously providing an abundance of food and tender care for His guests.

The Psalm closes with a profession of absolute confidence in our Heavenly Father to lead His child lovingly through this life and safely into eternity. So please join us on Prayers of Hope and as we learn that whatever changes or challenges that we may experience in this life nothing can break our connection with heaven and the loving care of our Heavenly Father.

Bible Texts:
Psalms 23: 1-6.

This week on Prayers of Hope we will focusing on Nehemiah's Prayer as an example to the people God who have committed themselves to accomplish His will. Nehemiah was not a Priest or a Prophet, he was a humble Reformer who God chose to set His people in the right relationship with Him.

His unyielding integrity was evident, he was so determined to maintain a right course when evil and opposition challenged him that he won the confidence of the people of Jerusalem. They were filled with courage and renewed zeal to complish the task of rebuilding the wall surrounding Jerusalem.

There is a need for characters like Nehemiah today, whose prayers and sermons are strengthen by a firm and eager purpose. The success which accompanied Nehemiah's efforts illustrates what prayer, faith, wisdom and energetic action will accomplish.

So please join us on Prayers of Hope and receive motivation to accomplish the task that God has placed in your hands.

Bible Texts:
Nehemiah 1:1-11; 2:1-20

God intended that the sad history of David's fall to serve as a severe warning, that even those who have been greatly blessed and favoured by Him are not safe when they neglect to be on their guard and pray without ceasing. This account in David's history is full of significance to every repenting sinner. It illustrates the most forceful struggle and temptation of humanity, and genuine repentance to God and faith in the saving power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God's children who have been deceived into a life of sin and feel discouraged and ready to give up in despair, can be encouraged when they remember how David was forgiven and accepted by God when he truly repented and confessed his sin.
So please join us on Prayers of Hope as we analyse the amazing love of God that offers hope, acceptance and forgiveness to every humble, penitent sinner.

Bible Texts:
Psalms 51:1-19
