In this week's Prayers of Hope we will be analysing the Prayer Life of the great Patriarch Moses. He interceded in prayer for Israel after they had committed the grievous sin of worshipping the golden calf which provoked God's anger. But God was only testing Moses' love for the rebellious mob that he was leading. This test Moses passed with flying colours and it was deemed as the 'Noblest Act' that Moses had ever performed. God was pleased with this sacrificial act of Moses' love for the undeserving mob, which proved that he was truly a man after God's own heart.

Moses learnt to talk less and Pray more when he faced any challenge. The more time Moses spent In prayer with God the more he wanted to be with Him. Moses made a request to God that no other human being had ever requested, and that was to see God's Face.

There was a mutual love relationship between God and Moses, so God granted him his petition. However, God the took the measure to protect mortal Moses from His Holy sin consuming power. He advised Moses to hide in the cleft of a nearby rock and then God protectively covered Moses with His Omnipotent Hand. Then God proclaimed His Holy Character of Love; He is merciful, gracious, long-suffering (patient), abundant in goodness, truthful and forgiving. A more complex declaration of God's regard and Love for sinners would be hard to find and many can testify of it's accuracy.

So don't miss this opportunity to share the moment when we will gaze upon the Beauty of God's Holiness on Prayers of Hope and experience it's ability to empower us to shine for Him.

He was a mass murderer, guilty of committing the most hainous crimes against humanity. He filled the streets of Jerusalem with the blood of the faithful Saints of God. He practised and promoted idol worship, witchcraft and offered human sacrifices including the lives of his own children. He erected many altars to idols throughout Jerusalem and Judah, and even placed them in the Sanctuary of the Holy God. His sins, iniquities and transgression were as numerous as the sands upon the seashore.

Who was this incredibly evil man you may be asking yourself, he must have been highly rated among the most depraved and ungodly creatures that ever drew breath, you may be thinking. Well his name was Manasseh king of Judah! Yes, the king of Judah, Judah God's chosen people.

God was watching all that Manasseh had done during his evil reign and decided to cut him down to size. The enemies of Judah were allowed to take king Manasseh into captivity bound in chains with a ring inserted through his nose and lip. King Manasseh had behaved like a brute beast now he was being treated like one. God used the whip of the Assyrians to beat Manasseh into submission and it did just what God an intended.

In his humiliation Manasseh came to his senses, he truly humbled himself and fell at God's feet pleading for mercy and offered the sinner's prayer. His broken spirit and contrite heart God did not despise. But, God was faithful and just to forgive him of all his sins and cleanse him from all his unrighteousness.

So if you think that you or someone that you know has gone too far in sin to turn back to God and receive forgiveness. Then you need to join us on Prayers of Hope as we focus on marvellous grace, mercy and forgiveness of our loving God.

We will be focusing on the three part story of Joseph the Dreamer. The terrible results of polygamy were manifested in the household of Jacob. The jealousy of several mothers had embittered the family relationship, the children of Jacob had grown up contentious and impatient of self control. There was one child however, the eldest son of Rachel whose name was Joseph, he had a widely different character. Joseph had a rare beauty which reflected his inward beauty of mind and heart. Pure, active, and joyous attributes, accompanied his moral earnestness and firmness. He listened to his father's instructions and loved to obey God. The qualities that afterward distinguished him in Egypt, gentleness, fidelity and truthfulness were already manifest.
One day Joseph told his brothers of a dream he had, which made them angry as they recognise that he was saying that he would reign and have dominion over them. To make matters worst Joseph's father had given him a special coat which signified his important status over his brothers. At the earliest opportunity Joseph's brothers physically and verbally abused him, they stripped him of his coat and sold him into slavery, their parting mocking words being, 'what will become of your dream now?'
But the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob was with Joseph, He had been the giver of the dream and He was able to bring it to fulfilment.
So join us on Prayers of Hope and be encouraged as hope is kept burning brightly in midst of a stormy saga in the life and times of faithful Joseph.

Job was God's faithful servant and his case is brought distinctly before us this week as a man who the Lord allowed Satan to afflict. The enemy stripped him of all he possessed; his family ties were broken, His children died. The time after all these calamities assailed him, his body was covered with loathsome sores, and he suffered greatly.

His friends came to comfort him, but they instead tried to convince him that he was responsible for all his afflictions because of his sinful conduct. But he defended himself and denied their charges declaring them to be, miserable comforters. God removed the afflictions of Job when he prayed for his miserable friends.

Despite of all that Job suffered he never proved the enemy right by cursing God. God was right, He had declared the faithfulness of His servant before Satan and the universe, because He knew His servant very well and He could count on Job's relationship with Him. God rewarded Job and compensated him with greater blessings of Children and possessions than what was cruelly taken away from him by the enemy.

So if you feel that you are under attack from all directions please join us on Prayers of Hope and receive encouragement and strength to persevere in prayer. As God can be trusted to rescue you from enemy destruction and more than compensate you for the losses that you have suffered.

This week we will be focusing on the life of Jacob, we will witness the demonstration of God's inseparable love for a man that deceived and stole from his aged, dying father Isaac and twin brother Esau.

Jacob knew that his sin was great and as he ran away from the anger of Esau whose Birth rite Blessing he had stolen; every step that he took became harder as he weighed down with the load of
guilt and shame for his actions. He could run and try to hide from Esau but he couldn't runaway from himself and his conscience.

At his lowest emotional and spiritual point, when nothing but tears was his diet day and night; God the great burden carrier was watching and listening with intense compassion to his prayer for forgiveness and reconciliation. That night God sent Jacob relief from the guilt and shame that was crushing him. As Jacob slept fitfully on his pillow of stone he was shown a ladder which extended from earth to heaven. He was elated to see and encouraged to know that there is a Saviour Jesus Christ (the Ladder) who offers forgiveness and reconciliation, thus uniting him with heaven once again.

In Jacob's story we will also learn how he wrestled in prayer, with every fibre of his being and he would not let go of God until he received the blessing that he desperately needed. The prayer answering God granted Jacob his request and as a sign of His approval, God changed his name from Jacob the deceiver to Israel the Overcomer.

If you are experiencing challenges with mistakes that you have made then this programme is especially for you; or if you would like to be an encourager to someone who is beaten-up with guilt do not miss this valuable lesson. Whatever your situation may be please join us on Prayers of Hope as there is a blessing awaiting you.

In this week's Prayers of Hope we will be focusing on the subject of Intercessory Prayer, which is a powerful weapon to be used as battle with the evil forces that we encounter daily.

Prayer is opening of the heart to God as to a friend, we are told in the book Steps to Christ by E.G. White. In prayer we connect with God on the highest level to enter into a closer relationship with Him to share our joys and sorrows, our struggles and victories, and our dreams and disappointments.

Through Intercessory Prayer we engage in Spiritual warfare and plead to the all powerful God for the salvation of people who He has influenced us to care about because He loves them. God then through His providence works to bring Victory over the evil enemy and Salvation to those who we are interceding for. We will discuss the Prayer Life of Jesus, who is our prefect example in every aspect of Christian character and relationship development. He often withdrew Himself into a quiet place in nature to be drawn closer to and Pray to His heavenly Father.

Through Scripture we will see that Intercessory Prayer is Biblical, powerful and part of God's Plan to transform our lives so that we can reach-out to people who need Him. So whether you would or would not like to have a more vibrant Prayer life and become a mighty Intercessor for God, please join us on Prayers of Hope to receive practical steps to victory in the battle that is fought on our knees.

Guest Diane Barnett

This week's programme on Prayers of Hope is 'The Prayer That Changed A Nation.' You may be thinking that this must be the prayer of a Great Prophet, or Priest or even a king. But no, it was the prayer of a woman, and not even one that would be counted by many as being of any significance.

Her name was Hannah and she had many problems; she couldn't have children, so her husband married a woman who could and this woman made herself her bitterest and most relentless enemy. She delighted in making Hannah's life miserable by her verbal and emotional abuse. But Hannah never retaliated in the same spirit nor did she take her case to the Courts of men but she appealed to the Courts of Heaven where God the Righteous Judge presides over every case.

Hannah knew that she wasn't the only one who had problems, as saw that God had a problem. The nation of Israel, God's people was led into apostacy by corrupt religious leaders. Therefore she was inspired by the Spirit of God to enter into earnest Prayer for a son that would faithfully serve God all his life and would take away her problem of being childless.

God knew that Hannah could trusted, so He gave her a son called Samuel. She trained him from the womb to love and obey God, and when he was weaned and very young she left him in the care of the Temple priests to serve God. She prayed daily that her son would remain faithful to God and as she made his priestly robes every stitch was accompanied by a Mother's Prayer, indeed she covered him with her prayers. God heard and answered the prayers of her heart and tears.

Her son the Prophet Samuel is recognised as one of the greatest Prophets of God, he started the School of the Prophets to train the nation of Israel to love, worship and obey the only true God and the heart of the nation turned to God because of Samuel's faithful ministry.

So whatever your circumstances may be please join us on Prayers of Hope and see how God can turn your challenges into a great blessing.

This week we will be exploring the life of Enoch, who had such a relationship with God that he walked straight into Heaven. Yes, Enoch was so filled with God's love and so obedient to His Divine laws that he was qualified for Citizenship in Heaven.

How did this occur you may be asking yourself, well I can only give a brief outline here as the finer details will be discussed in the programme. Enoch was a man who was a practitioner of Prayer, to him Prayer was like breathing. He would intentionally isolate himself with God at certain times so that he could hear God's voice. This was remarkable as Enoch never saw God visibly but only through the eyes of faith and that experience was enough for the Holy Spirit to transform his character into the character of God.

But Enoch did not spend his life in splendid isolation, not at all, he was the first prophet to preach the second coming of Jesus. The prophet Jude confirms this fact, KJV Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of His saints.

I hope that your appetite for Spiritual food as been whet, as we are waiting to serve you on our Prayer Breakfast show Prayers of Hope. So please join us as there will be plenty of food for thought, exploration and imitation.

Bible Texts:
Guest Diane Barnett Scriptures Psalms 37:23 24; Genesis 4:25 26; 5:18-24; Romans 7:19; Matthew 5:6; Hebrews 11:5; Jude 1:14-16.
