Therefore he passionately expresses his love and devotion for the House of God where he would worship Jehovah, KJV Psalms 84:2 ,10 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Psalms 83 is a desperate cry to that God would rescue His Holy Nation Israel. They are facing one of their many National Crisis situation. In this National Emergency Israel is up against a united conspiracy of enemy nations who together are threatening to attack them. The events of this major incident is recorded in 2 Chronicles 20; where in the reign of King Jehoshaphat the nations of Moab, Ammon and Edom form a alliance to destroy Israel.

God's intervention was the only hope for the salvation of Israel, the Psalmist outlines this is his plea, KJV Psalms 83:1 Keep not Thou silence, O God: hold not Thy peace, and be not still, O God for they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against Thee:

We can see that Psalmist equates an attack on God's People as an attack upon God himself. Therefore he prays, KJV Psalms 83:13, O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.

In Psalms 83 we are given a masterclass on how pray in order to survive the attack of our enemies whether they are few or many. So if you or someone you know feels overwhelmed by the threat or attack from a host of enemies. Firstly, take heart that others have successfully come through that experience and secondly, there are coping and overcoming strategies to learn in Psalms 83.

Please join us on Prayers of Hope and pray for your enemies as we focus on God's desire to save them, KJV Psalms 83:16,18 Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek Thy Name, O LORD. That men may know that Thou, whose Name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

Psalms 83:1-18 2 Chronicles 20:1-37

This beautiful elegy was written in the era of Israel's great national distress. The Psalmist is crying out in prayer for God to Restore His favour upon His people.
The Psalmist refers to Israel as a fruitful vine that was transplanted from Egypt and carefully tended by God. Consequently this vine flourished profusely and spread it's branches laden with fruit in all directions.
But alas, the vine no longer receives the Divine Gardener's tender care and subsequently it is abandoned to the abuse of those who disregard it and have ruined it. The Psalmist continues in earnest Prayer for God to rescue the vine from total destruction.
So whether or not you are experiencing challenges that makes you question God's presence in your life. Please join us on Prayers of Hope as we rekindle and fan the flames of faith in our God who loves to bless His people and graciously shines His face upon them so that they may experience His peace.

This Psalm is an elegy describing the total destruction of Jerusalem by the invading Babylonian Army.

The Psalmist begins by recounting the savage attack on the LORD 's property, KJV Psalms 79:1O God, the heathen are come into Thine inheritance; Thy Holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps. Then he gives an account of the horrific massacre and captivity of the Citizens of Jerusalem, KJV Psalms 79:2 The dead bodies of Thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of Thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.

An urgent earnest appeal is cued out to God for rescue and revenge, KJV Psalms 79:6-7 Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known Thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon Thy Name. For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place.

The Psalmist concludes with the assurance that his Prayer will be answered and therefore he offers Praise and Thanksgiving in advance , KJV Psalms 79:12-13 And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord. So we Thy people and sheep of Thy pasture will give Thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth Thy praise to all generations.

Do you feel like you are living in a war-zone with the evidence of destruction lying all around you?. Whether or not this may be your case, please join us on Prayers of Hope as we focus on our God who never loses a battle because He all powerful and mighty to rescue and save His faithful Soldiers of the Cross.

King David is believed to be the author of this Psalm. The Psalm begins on a high note, KJV Psalms 77:1 I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and He gave ear unto me.

Then the the mood changes to a earnest distressing call for help; KJV Psalms 77:2-4
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted. I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.

The overwhelmed Psalmist derives comfort for a moment by remembering who God is and how He has delivered His people in the past. Then David seeks to understand God's government, but that proves to be a futile exercise which ends in feelings of sadness and frustration. Because the Creator God's ways and thoughts are higher than those of His created beings.

In recognition of God's Holiness and Majesty the Psalmist declares, KJV Psalms 77:13 Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?

We can indeed proclaim the same sentiments, so please join us on Prayers of Hope as we focus on our Great God.

Psalms 75 was composed by king David,'s Levite chief musician Asaph. In this Psalm the focus is on God's deliverance of His people from their enemies. Therefore it begins with Thanksgiving, KJV Psalms 75:1 Unto Thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto Thee do we give thanks: for that Thy name is near Thy wondrous works declare.

The Psalmist presents a dramatic picture of God as the righteous judge whose judgments are timely and for the benefit of all parties concerned. Therefore there is no need to feel discouraged or unappreciated because, KJV Psalms 75:7 ....God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another. God will promote His faithful worker who serves Him with humility. While the proud and arrogant disqualify themselves and self destruct because they refuse to recognise the authority of God.

So if you need an boost in your life, why not join us on Prayers of Hope and be motivated, empowered and elevated.

Psalms 73 was composed by Asaph who was the chief Levite Musician under the direction of king David. In this Psalm Asaph is voicing the Mental conflict that he is experiencing as he observed the apparent properity of the wicked while the righteous appear to suffer nothing but persecution.

Asaph was so embittered by what he perceived that he was loosing his faith in God and focusing on the things that this world was offering, he said, KJV Psalms 73:2-3 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped. For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

Asaph admits that he was at breaking point, KJV Psalms 73:16 When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; Then as he took his dilemma in to the presence of God the answer was revealed to him, KJV Psalms 73:17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. Asaph had lost his perspective and exaggerated the prosperity of the wicked. The wicked are in the most dangerous and frightening position, if their life ends they would have to face the final judgment without an Intercessor which means that they would face the penalty for their sins which is death.

If you have problems and questions about life's challenges, we invite you to join us on Prayers of Hope as we, like Asaph take them to God as life's problems are solved in Communion with Him..

The author of this beautiful Psalm is king David, he composed it for his son king Solomon when he ascended to his throne as king of Israel. The author begins with a Prayer for an ideal King whose decisions are based not on his will nor the will of men but purely on the will of God, KJV Psalms 72:1 Give the king Thy judgments, O God, and Thy righteousness unto the king's son.
The righteous administration of the ideal king would result in mercy and lovingkindness being the experience of his subjects and his dealings with the nations of the earth would bring honour and glory to the reputation of God as the Beauty of Holiness is revealed to the world.
If Solomon had followed the Divinely inspired instructions of his father, his reign would be a blessing to himself and everyone in his vast sphere of influence, KJV Psalms 72:11 Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him. Then heaven would have rejoiced in the nations that would enlist as citizens of the Holy Kingdom.
Unfortunately Solomon failed to follow the Divine instructions but we can be certain that every condition that was made has been fulfilled by Jesus Christ our King and His Righteous reign will last for Eternity , .
So please join us on Prayers of Hope as we prepare for citizenship in the Heavenly Jerusalem , let us with king David declare the Royal Anthem., KJV Psalms 72:18 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.19 And blessed be His glorious Name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with His glory; Amen, and Amen.20 The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.

In Psalms 71, as David advances in age he reflects on the lives of those who have reached the Old Age milestone which he is heading towards. David is taking warning from what he sees in some Senior folks around him.

He wants to avoid the unhappy results that he has witnessed in the elderly age group; caused by them adopting negative traits of character in their earlier years. He recognises that his only safeguard in maintaining a healthy body, mind and Spirit to the end of his life, is total dependence on his loving Creator God. So David prays, KJV Psalms 71:5 For Thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: Thou art my trust from my youth. 9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

In this Psalm David shares the secret of growing old gracefully and gratefully, KJV Psalms 71:23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto Thee; and my soul, which Thou hast redeemed. 24 My tongue also shall talk of Thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.

You are invited to join us on Prayers of Hope, whatever age you may be it will be most beneficial to add this vital ingredient of Praise and Thanksgiving to God to your retirement plan. So come and Praise the LORD with us so that we can spend our remaining years happily ripening up for Heaven.
