This week' on Prayers of Hope will be presenting part 2 of a 2 part programme on analysing Psalms 69: 19-36. In part 1 we witnessed the distress that David was experiencing when he was prosecuted for his faith and zeal for God. We also saw that despite persecution David drew closer to his God and prayed more earnestly. He was confident that his prayer would be heard, KJV Psalms 69:16 Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
In part 2 we now see the Prophetic accounts of the suffering which Jesus Christ our LORD would be subjected to, KJV Psalms 69:20-21 Reproach hath broken My heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. They gave Me also gall for My meat; and in My thirst they gave Me vinegar to drink.
We are poignantly reminded that we have a Saviour who understands human suffering and He is acquainted with grief and sorrow. Therefore He stays close to us in our most distressing times, carrying us gently, so we like the Psalmist can talk to Him, KJV Psalms 69:29-30 But I am poor and sorrowful: let Thy salvation, O God, set me up on high. I will praise the Name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving.
Let us truely learn to praise our God when we are going through the storms in our lives. Join us on Prayers of Hope and attend a master class from David the Psalmist on how to be strengthened by the joy of the LORD.
