This week' on Prayers of Hope will be presenting part 2 of a 2 part programme on analysing Psalms 69: 19-36. In part 1 we witnessed the distress that David was experiencing when he was prosecuted for his faith and zeal for God. We also saw that despite persecution David drew closer to his God and prayed more earnestly. He was confident that his prayer would be heard, KJV Psalms 69:16 Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.

In part 2 we now see the Prophetic accounts of the suffering which Jesus Christ our LORD would be subjected to, KJV Psalms 69:20-21 Reproach hath broken My heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. They gave Me also gall for My meat; and in My thirst they gave Me vinegar to drink.

We are poignantly reminded that we have a Saviour who understands human suffering and He is acquainted with grief and sorrow. Therefore He stays close to us in our most distressing times, carrying us gently, so we like the Psalmist can talk to Him, KJV Psalms 69:29-30 But I am poor and sorrowful: let Thy salvation, O God, set me up on high. I will praise the Name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving.

Let us truely learn to praise our God when we are going through the storms in our lives. Join us on Prayers of Hope and attend a master class from David the Psalmist on how to be strengthened by the joy of the LORD.

This week on Prayers of Hope we will begin part 1 of a 2 part programme on analysing Psalms 69. In part 1 we will analyse this Prayer of Sorrow from verses 1-18.
David makes a mournful plea to God due to the overwhelming effect of the grief and torment that he is experiencing. He cries, KJV Psalms 69:2-3 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.
David is a innocent victim of persecution due to his faith in God, KJV Psalms 69:9 For the zeal of Thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached Thee are fallen upon me. But David holds on to his conviction in the loving character of his God despite his distressing predicament, KJV Psalms 69:13 But as for me, my prayer is unto Thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of Thy mercy hear me, in the truth of Thy salvation.
Please join us as we analyse David's Prayer of Hope, receive strength and encouragement as you make it your very own heart's cry.

This joyful Psalm summons the inhabitants of the earth to rejoice in God the Sovereign Ruler of the world. The rationale for summoning such Rejoicing is due to the Aaronic Blessing fouud in Numbers 6:24-26, which God lovingly shines upon His people. Therefore in response to God's illuminating love His people joyfully declare, KJV Psalms 67:3-4 Let the people praise Thee, O God; let all the people praise Thee. O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for Thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth.
We will be joining in the Universal Praise of our Worthy Heavenly King on Prayers of Hope so join us and let His love shine on and in you.

David is the author of Psalm 64, in it he paints a powerful picture of evil men plotting to take away his life.
This Prayer is divided into three sections, in verses 1-6 David begins by praying for protection; KJV Psalms 64:1 Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy. Then in verses 7-9 he declares with confidence and gratitude that his Heavenly Father will destroy his enemies, KJV Psalms 64:7 But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded. Finally he concludes in the last verse with a triplet of praise to God for answering his prayer, KJV Psalms 64:10 The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in Him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

Whether or not you are facing a fiece attack from your enemies this Psalm will remind you that God is your protector and defender from all forms of enemy plots to destroy you. This Psalm conveys a message of comfort to those who are experiencing difficulty. It is especially applicable to God's 'Commandment Keeping People' who will face a time of trouble just before Jesus returns. But we need not wait to be to blessed by the comfort which only God can give, we can receive it now.
The reoccurring theme in this Psalm is the assurance of security for those who place their trust in God.
The Psalmist portrays the loving, gentle and protective way in which God relates to His people; KJV Psalms 91:4 He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. God's arms are still extended to us to offer shelter from the storms in our life all we have to do is ask Him to embrace us.
In the last three verses of this Psalm God places His seal of approval upon all that is declared in this prayer, He confirms; KJV Psalms 91:14-16 Because he hath set His love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My Name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.: With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him My salvation.
You can personalise this promise as God is speaking directly to you. So whether you are experiencing difficulties or you just want to gett closer to God; please join us on Prayers of Hope. Here you can receive Divine Comfort and assurance that irrespective of what you have to face in this life God will take care of you.

David is the composter of this very sensitive Psalm which was penned while he hid himself from the murderous intent of king Saul.

Here the joy, praise, thanksgiving and the desire for communication with God is exquisitely expressed; KJV Psalms 63:1 O God, Thou art my God; early will I seek Thee: my soul thirsteth for Thee, my flesh longeth for Thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; 3 Because Thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise Thee. This is a mere sample of the beauty of the language and imagery which David employs to convey his love for God in the 11 verses of this Prayer

If you are thirsty and hungry for Holy love and kindness, you are invited to a Spiritual feast on Prayers of Hope where you are free to taste and see the goodness of God.
