This week we will be focusing on the Prayer Liife of Abraham , the great faithful patriarch. He left the security of his home and his extended family at the age of 75, to travel to an unknown destination all because God had promised a land.
The life of Abraham was a life of prayer, he was the friend of God. Wherever he pitched his tent, he would build an altar close by it where he could offer the morning and evening sacrifice. His daily prayer ascended to God as sweet incense. When Abraham removed his tent as journeyed on with God, the altar would remain as a testament to other roving travellers that he had been there. Then they too would be encouraged to worship the God of Abraham at the altar.
So please join us on Prayers of Hope as we worship the God of Abraham who is our Heavenly Father. While we offer our prayers to Him they will ascend like sweet incense and His mercy and blessings will descend upon us like morning dew.

In Psalms 91 we have a wonderful description of the coming of our LORD to bring an end to evil in all it's forms and to reward those who have chosen Him as their Redeemer, by tbe assurance of His love and protection. KJV Psalms 91:3-4, 14 Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. . . Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My Name.

The God of all mercy and compassion is inviting every individual to accept His love and protection that He so freely offers to them. Let us therefore hurry to accept this unbeatable offer of an eternal life of true joy, peace and contentment

So please join us on Prayers of Hope as we learn to be empowered by our Heavenly Father who has and is and will take care of us.

This week we will continue to analyse Psalms 89 which was composed by Ethan who was an Ezrahite renowned for his wisdom. We will be concluding our study of Psalm 86 by exploring part two, verses 27-52.

In oder to refreshed our memory we will recap part one which was our focus last week. We discovered the childlike love and trust which existed between king David and his Heavenly Father. Therefore God made a Covenant king David and his descendants that the throne of David would be eternal but due to the failure of David's descendents to keep their part the Covenant it could not be fulfill through them.

But the love of God triumphs over human failure and God sent His Holy Son Jesus Christ to fulfill every requirement in order to bring God's blessings to His children in he human family. We were reminded of the sweetness of our Heavenly Father's great love for us, His earthly children.

In this week's Programme the Psalmist begins by recalling God's Covenant with king David'and his first descendant king Solomon, KJV Psalms 89:27-28 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. But once again we are reminded that God's promises are conditional and if we break our promise to be faithful and obedient children then there will be consequences that follow.

King David and his descendants were experiencing these consequences and the Psalmist recounts them to God the Heavenly Father, KJV Psalms 89:31-32 If they break My statutes, and keep not My commandments; Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. But with punishment the Psalmist acknowledges that God always exercise His mercy and faithfulness, KJV Psalms 89:33-34 Nevertheless My lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer My faithfulness to fail. My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips.

But the Psalmist in frustration at the plight of Israel makes an inaccurate accusation against God, KJV Psalms 89:38-39, 46 But Thou hast cast off and abhorred, Thou hast been wroth with Thine anointed. Thou hast made void the covenant of Thy servant:Thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground. . . How long, LORD? wiltThou hide Thyself for ever? shall Thy wrath burn like fire?

Alas, we learn the lesson that God only punishes to bring His rebellious earthly children to repentance and Salvation. The Psalmist has learnt this lesson also and ends this Prayer on a high note, KJV Psalms 89:52 Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.

So whether or not you are experiencing difficulties which cause you to question the faithfulness and mercy of God. Please join us on Prayers of Hope in our Prayer Breakfast as we taste and see that God is Good all the time.

This week we will being analysing the first part of a two part study of Psalms 89. The Psalm has also been called A Psalm of the Covenant and iking David t begins on a high note of worshipful Praise to God; KJV Psalms 89:1 I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known Thy faithfulness to all generations.

Then the Psalmist recalls God's Covenant with him stating, KJV Psalms 89:3-4I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn unto David My servant, Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah. This Covenant like all God's Promises can only be fulfilled when the other party or parties involved in the relationship are obedient and faithful to fulfill their requirements.

Unfortunately the descendants of David failed to keep their part of this Covenant. But, the love of God could not fail and God sent His Holy Son of God Jesus Christ, to succeeded where men would not so that God's Words are accomplished (Luke 1:31-33). Therefore this Prayer of Praise rightly continues in the Spirit of Adoration to God, KJV Psalms 89:6, 8 For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD? ... O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto Thee? or to Thy faithfulness round aboutThee?

This first section concludes in verse 26 where King David reveals the total dependent relationship which existed between him and his Heavenly Father, KJV Psalms 89:26 He shall cry unto Me, Thou art my Father, my God, and the Rock of my Salvation.

Please join us on Prayers of Hope as we savour the sweetness of the our Heavenly Father's great love for us, His earthly children.

This elegy of David has been labelled as the most mournful and despondent of all the Psalms. Inspite of this David begins by declaring that God is his Saviour who he consistently communicates with, KJV Psalms 88:1 O LORD God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before Thee:

He acknowledges the Divine Character of God,, lHis lovingkindness, faithfulness and righteousness. Thus illustrating that this Psalm is the perfect example of faith in adversity, although David experiences no relief from his suffering he tightens his hold upon God and refuses to let Him go. He is persistent in his prayer, he vows that his prayer will meet God each morning, because he hasn't lost hope.
So join us as we too meet our Compassionate Heavenly Father with our Prayers of Hope .

The Prayer in Psalms 85 begins with an expression of thanks to God for rescuing Israel from literal and Spiritual Captivity, he says, KJV Psalms 85:1-2 LORD, Thou hast been favourable unto Thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob. Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of Thy people, Thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.

Then the Psalmist goes on to plead for total restoration of God's favour upon His people, KJV Psalms 85:6 Wilt Thou not revive us again: that Thy people may rejoice in Thee? In the concluding verses the Psalmist is optimistic and anticipates that God he will receive a favourable answer to his prayer because of the Loving and Kind Character of God, KJV Psalms 85:10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Therefore the Prayer ends giving thanks and praise to the Wonderful, Merciful Saviour. KJV Psalms 85:12 ,13 Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase. Righteousness shall go before Him; and shall set us in the way of His steps.

So if you are in need of large portions of Encouragement and Hope for the present and the future. Please join us on Prayers of Hope Prayer Breakfast.
